Handmade Bespoke Ceremonial & Cremation Jewellery.

Weddings, occasions and everyday pieces.

‘Jewellery with soul, as unique as the life it honours.’

Welcome to Mary Ellen.

Mary Ellen was born from loss — from losing my own dad.

When I was faced with the idea of sending his ashes away to a large company, something about it didn’t sit right with me. It felt impersonal. Cold. I didn’t want his memory handled anonymously or processed through a system. I wanted something meaningful. Something created with care, compassion, and intention.

I realised I wasn’t alone in feeling that way.

So many of us want to know who is making something so precious. Where it is going. How it is being handled. We want to feel safe. We want to feel understood. We want someone who shares our values — love, integrity, individuality — someone creative, but also human. Someone who feels more like a friend than a factory.

Mary Ellen was created to be that safe pair of hands.

Every piece is made with deep respect, personal connection, and complete transparency. I understand the weight of what you are entrusting me with, because I have stood where you are standing.

As Mary Ellen grew, weddings became a natural extension of my work. I was fortunate to have my dad with me on my wedding day — and I know not everyone has that privilege. Incorporating a loved one into your wedding jewellery allows their presence to be felt in a quiet, beautiful way — whether for brides, grooms, or the wedding party.

But at its heart, Mary Ellen remains rooted in everyday connection. In honouring grief. In creating tangible pieces that hold love, not just ashes.

When you choose Mary Ellen, you know where your ashes are. You know who is creating your piece. And you know it is being handled with the same care I would give my own family.

This is jewellery made with trust. With intention. With heart.

Love Mary x

Bridal & Wedding Party FAQS

How do I get started?

Pop me over a message and we can arrange to speak in whichever way feels most comfortable for you.

From there, I’ll send you a simple form so we can begin exploring what you’re looking for and the story behind your piece.

Is a deposit required?

Yes — to secure your wedding booking and begin the design process, a deposit is required.

Typically, I ask for a 50% deposit initially, however flexible payment plans are available and can be tailored around your wedding date to help spread the cost in a way that works for you.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely. Payment plans can be arranged monthly or split into manageable instalments leading up to your wedding day.

I always try to make the process feel as stress-free and flexible as possible.

What happens after I pay my deposit?

Once your design has been agreed and your deposit has been paid, I’ll begin sourcing the materials for your piece and keep you updated throughout the process.

At this stage, we’ll also confirm your payment plan and timeline.

Can I change the design?

Of course. As long as we’re not too far into the making process, small changes and refinements can usually be made to ensure your piece feels perfect for you.

Whether it’s details to complement your dress, wedding theme, personal style, or sentimental inclusions, every piece is created to feel deeply personal and meaningful.

This may include bridal jewellery, cufflinks, bouquet charms, memorial jewellery, breastmilk jewellery, or other bespoke keepsakes for your day.

How do I approve the final design?

Once you’re completely happy with the design, I’ll send everything over via email for your final approval before creation begins.

What happens once the design is approved?

You’ll receive:

  • your contract agreement

  • your payment plan details

  • a clear outline of the next steps

  • and information about any materials or inclusions needed for your piece

Your agreed deposit will also be due at this stage.

What happens next?

Where needed, I’ll send out anything required for your piece, such as:

  • a ring sizer

  • inclusion bags for ashes, hair, or other sentimental materials

  • or any additional guidance to help make the process simple and comfortable for you

I’ll remain in touch throughout the creation process so you always know how your piece is progressing.

How far in advance should I book?

I always recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak wedding seasons.

This gives us plenty of time to design, create, and make any refinements needed before your big day, while also ensuring availability within my schedule.

Where can I see reviews and previous work?

Please feel free to visit my social media pages linked at the top of the website, where you’ll find reviews, previous bespoke pieces, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the process.

I look forward to hearing from you.
